About Fat Pad Restoration
Do you feel like you’re walking on pebbles?

Do you feel like there is no padding on the ball of your feet?
It’s called fat pad atrophy (loss of fat on the ball of the foot.)
The answer is Fat Pad Restoration!
Leneva is an FDA cleared injection to restore the natural cushion of fat to pressure points on the foot. This includes the ball of the foot, heel, and any points that cause corns and calluses.
About Fat Pad Restoration
What is Leneva?
Leneva, the first of its kind, fat graft that restores the cushioning where it is needed. Bembynista will use a cold spray to numb the skin around the injection to minimize any pain from the treatment. Leneva is a fat graft that works to build fat tissue back over the course of twelve weeks. It provides new cushion to reduce the pressure for such conditions as loss of fat on the ball of foot, corns, calluses, and other painful pressure points. Leneva can last for a minimum of 12 months or greater. Once Leneva is injected your body produces new fat cells using the scaffolding effect from the injection. Leneva rebuilds and repairs the damaged fat cells to produce cushioning.
To find out if this treatment is right for you, the first thing would be to make an appointment with Dr. Bembynista in order to evaluate your condition. If Leneva would benefit you, we would obtain x-rays and perform an ultrasound exam to locate the exact area where fat pad atrophy is occurring. Leneva is then injected where atrophy is determined. The injections are relatively painless.
After treatment, light padding is used to protect the area for approximately along with reduced activities for about a week.
Leneva is not covered by insurance; the cost Is $800.00 per injection. If x-rays or a special shoe are necessary there is an additional cost. Patients can normally use their HSA card.
I was looking for hammertoe surgery. Along with some foot swelling. Over the past year I talked to three podiatrist. And also went to three orthopedic surgeons. I needed some thing done minimally, because I was getting a total knee replacement in October 2020. As I searched for minimally invasive surgery, I came across Dr Bembynista in his KCNorth office. He Assessed my feet. Diagnose the issue with my swelling, that nobody else has been able to. Injected that area painlessly. Explained the situation with my orthotics. And scheduled me for a very small procedure to correct my toe. It was done in the Overland Park office where he had more equipment. The only discomfort that I had was with a little numbing. His procedure was able to uncross my toe, the other doctors were wanting to use pins for six weeks through my toe, removing part of the bone, the metatarsal. None of this was needed. As I talk to him I listened and learned that he stays up on all new foot procedures. His office was friendly. I would describe Dr. Bembynista as brilliant with foot issues and has a Delightful personality! I am a retired RN. I was very impressed! Surgery was 4 weeks ago! Back in sneakers, 4 days post procedure.

wonderful, wonderful experience. Had a very painful callous right under my pinky toe. I also had a very painful spot in my foot. I was unaware that this pain was being caused by the bone itself. Well, Dr. Bembynista, injected my foot (very painlessly) and also trimmed the callous. Within hours, my foot was already feeling better. I was able to walk without any pain. No downtime, no surgery, back to work directly after my appointment!!! Thanks so much for this minimally invasive resolution to my foot pain!!!!

I was told by several surgeons that I would need hammertoe surgery to correct painful corns on both of my 4th toes. Dr. Bembynista told me that wasn’t necessary and injected them for me. Not only did the pain subside, but the corns completely disappeared and have not returned for 3 years so far! Truly amazing!!!
