Corns & Calluses

about Corns & Calluses

What are Corns & Calluses?

Corns and calluses are thick, hardened layers of skin that develop when your skin tries to protect itself against friction and pressure which is caused by a boney enlargement under the skin..

If you’re healthy, you need treatment for corns and calluses only if they cause discomfort. For most people, simply eliminating the source of friction or pressure makes corns and calluses can the stop hurting. Once we exam your foot and determine the cause treatment can be recommended.

Treatment’s can involve simply trimming the corn of calluses. We can also use injection’s of a low grade steroid to reduce the inflammation and soreness. Custom orthotics in many cases can really help by reducing the pressure on the area. Surgery is rarely necessary.

I was told by several surgeons that I would need hammertoe surgery to correct painful corns on both of my 4th toes. Dr. Bembynista told me that wasn’t necessary and injected them for me. Not only did the pain subside, but the corns completely disappeared and have not returned for 3 years so far! Truly amazing!!!

Writing this review from the wife's point of view...my husband had given up on finding any relief for his foot pain. He had been to multiple podiatrists with no relief found. I told him he couldn't give up that there had to be someone out there who could fix his feet or at least lessen the pain. I searched online reading reviews for days until I kept running across Dr. Bembynista and decided to make the appointment for my husband. Dr. Bembynista has been a miracle worker. Injections, trimming and orthotics later he feels 100% better. He can now walk without pain and enjoying life more. Mike says....HE LISTENS!!! Recommend to every one who needs relief!! He is THE BEST!!!
